A lifetime of hard earned experience and expertise plays across Sally O’Neill’s newly opened studio, where her highly regarded reputation as one of the industry’s best hair and make-up artists began at a boutique salon in Chorlton, Manchester. Immersed in the eclectic energy of the 90s music scene, it was a salon that captured the zeitgeist of the time, effortlessly attracting clients from some of the most influential bands including The Inspiral Carpets, Swing Out Sister and New Order. 

With an unwavering determination to elevate her craft, Sally trained at a prestigious Manchester city centre salon, where she honed her skills mastering bespoke and beautiful haircuts and colours that defined individual beauty. Alongside this, Sally was developing her talent as a make-up artist, collaborating with musicians to create their visuals. 

Sally went on to assist iconic hair stylists on Vogue covers, backstage at international fashion weeks in New York, London, Milan and Paris, along with shoots that defined an era. Over time, Sally established herself as a highly sought after hair and make-up artist in her own standing, attracting an A-list clientele, including Kate Moss, Helena Christensen, Tilda Swinton, Emma Thompson, David Beckham, Victoria Beckham, Demi Moore, Luke Evans, Jared Leto and Liv Tyler to name a few.

Behind the Curtain was born from a desire to create a sanctuary and an exceptional environment that combines creative vision with unparalleled expertise. Inspired by Sally’s years spent behind the scenes at the forefront of fashion, this studio is her private haven, a place where insider hair techniques meet the warmth and exclusivity of a secret club for hair.
